Blogging mistakes that waste your reader’s time: You don’t show your personality

Who you are, your knowledge and your voice is what makes you and your posts unique.  In a vast ocean of websites, blogs and social media profiles where (and let’s be perfectly honest) people write about the exact same stuff as you … what makes you different?

Your writing personality is the key. When you share useful information it is critical to let your personality shine through. If  you sound like an 80’s pop song that’s been overplayed you merge with the rest of the “blogs” in your niche.

How do you add more value to your posts using  personality?

  1. Don’t be afraid to view a controversial topic from a fresh perspective.
  2. Share your personal experience but remember the content is for the reader’s benefit … not yours
  3. Don’t shy away from a little quirky humor.

Your audience engage with you because of who you are. They engage with you because they like you. They engage with you because they like what you have to say and they like how you say it. So, sit back, relax and remember … you are unique just like everyone else ;0)

This has always been one of my biggest mistakes. What mistakes have you made … ?
